Parade Arrival:

Arrival at 1 pm - 1:30 pm at the Georgetown Fairgrounds located at 413 N Seminary St, Georgetown, IL 61846

 

Please allow plenty of time to transition onto the parade floats or vehicles for the parade.  All Veterans will need to be ready for the parade to start at 2 pm. There will be handicap-accessible restrooms available at this location. 

When you arrive, the volunteer crew will get you checked in and help you to your float or vehicle for the parade.  Veterans will have the option to join on a float or in Jeeps as space permits.  

Parade Route will be marked, but will go from the Georgetown Fairgrounds to the Georgetown Ridge-Farm High School located at: 500 W Mulberry Street, Georgetown, Illinois 61846. 

Honor Ceremony:

The Honor Ceremony will take place at 3:30 PM at Georgetown Ridge-Farm High School, located at 500 W Mulberry Street, Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Handicap-accessible restrooms will be available at this location.

Volunteers will be present to check in the veterans and their families and assist you in finding your seats. Please note that we wish to honor the veterans who are still living while also recognizing and paying tribute to those who have gone before us. Families of those veterans who have passed are encouraged to attend the Honor Ceremony as well.  We encourage you to bring a photo of your loved one if possible.

We will have local, state, and national officials present to honor our Vietnam-Era veterans. Veterans will be recognized by name during this event.

The ceremony will be held outside, weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be hosted in the Georgetown Ridge-Farm High School gymnasium.

CONCERT:

Following the Honor Ceremony, everyone is invited to join us at the Georgetown American Legion Dornblaser Post 203 located at 106 E West State Street, Georgetown, Illinois 61846 for the band Bodertown live in concert. 

Concert begins at 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
