giving the Vietnam veterans a welcome home theh deserve.png

Mark your calendars!

Join us on April 26th for a momentous occasion!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, and we are proud to announce an event dedicated to giving our veterans the welcome home they so rightfully deserve but never received.

We’ll kick off the day with a parade that will travel from the Fairgrounds to the High School, where a special presentation will follow. We are honored to have several government officials joining us to commemorate this significant event.

Participating organizations include:

- GRF Men’s Club
- Post 203 Dornblasers
- Georgetown Sons of the American Legion
- Georgetown Ladies Community Club
- Russell Lodge #154 Masons
- Gateway Family Services of Illinois
- Veterans Assistance Commission of Vermilion County
- Georgetown Auxiliary American Legion
- Mission K9

We invite everyone to come out and celebrate our Vietnam era Veterans, who did not receive the welcome home they deserved 50 years ago.

For any Vietnam-era veteran wishing to take part in this event and be recognized for your services, please feel free to reach out to us.
